Do I need a referral to see Dr John Cosson?

You will need a referral from your general or specialist dentist or a general medical practitioner before we can schedule a consultation for you with Dr John Cosson.

What do I need to bring to my consultation?

You will need to bring your referral and any relevant x-rays to your consultation appointment. It is generally possible for us to obtain these details from your referring practitioner. If you have not been provided with these items please ensure you have your referring practitioner’s details available.

Can I have surgery on the same day as my consultation?

Consultation and surgery appointments are separate appointments that are scheduled on separate days. Please let our reception staff know if your treatment is urgent when making your consultation. Every effort will be made to assist patients requiring urgent treatment.

What is your payment policy?

We accept the following methods of payment: EFTPOS, credit cards (Visa, Mastercard and Bankcard only), cash, cheque or direct deposit.

All in hospital treatment requires fees to be paid one week in advance. Once this payment is received we can issue you with a receipt of payment. Your invoice for treatment will be sent out to you on the day of treatment. It is a legislative requirement that invoices can only be issued on the day treatment is performed.

You will need to contact the Anaesthetist and the Hospital to discuss their requirements for payment. These contact details will be provided to you at your consultation.

If you have private health insurance (hospital and extras) you may be eligible for a rebate on your Hospital admission fees, Dr Cosson’s surgical fee and the Anaesthetist fee. If you hold a medicare card you may be eligible for a rebate on your consultation fee with Dr Cosson and the Anaesthetist fee may also attract a medicare rebate.

At your consultation appointment you will be provided with a quotation and provided with the opportunity to discuss payment arrangements.
