Chin augmentation surgery, or genioplasty is a surgical procedure that corrects a receding chin, a misaligned chin or an excessively large chin. Reshaping the chin is achieved by repositioning the bone that supports the chin. During surgery, an incision is made insider your lower lip or under your chin. The chin bone is then repositioned or an implant is placed through this incision.
How long will it take?
Chin augmentation surgery is not complicated or particularly invasive and can usually be performed as a day procedure.
In almost all cases, chin augmentation surgery is conducted in hospital with the use of a general anaesthetic.
